Experience, Technology and Safety. Perhaps no three factors are as important as these when it comes to choosing an eye surgeon to whom you entrust your eye care.
Experience is crucial in selecting an eye surgeon. You need someone who knows not only the basics, but who has also encountered special cases and has dealt with them successfully. Since 1983, Dr. Niswander has performed thousands of successful eye procedures for patients with cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, eyelid abnormalities, and many other conditions.
A 1979 graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Dr. Niswander comes from a tradition of excellence in medical care. He is a double board certified ophthalmologist with certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology and in Cataract/Lens Implant Surgery by the American Board of Eye Surgery. He holds the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine.
When you put something as important as your eyesight in someone else's hands, do you want your doctor to use good equipment or the best equipment?
Equipment and technology can make a big difference in the quality of your results. At Niswander Eye Center, we offer our patients the most comprehensive and advanced combination of diagnostic and treatment technology available anywhere. Why settle for less?
Dr. Niswander offers the latest advances in cataract surgery and intraocular lenses. His surgeries are performed at the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Western New York, which he co-founded in 1999. It is Medicare certified, and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The center is specially designed for eye surgery, with 6 fully sterile operating rooms, constantly monitored for humidity and temperature levels. The latest equipment and an experienced staff are key factors in achieving optimal results.
At Niswander Eye Center, we are committed to your safety. Only after careful examination of your eyes and your individual needs will we determine which, if any, surgical option is right for you.
We are fully equipped to handle all aspects of your eye care. We welcome your questions and concerns and will answer each question to your satisfaction. We take the time to educate you about both the benefits and the risks of any surgery. Overall, cataract surgery is generally a very safe procedure. If an alternate treatment option might be best, we'll tell you all about it, too. After all, not everyone needs an operation!
At Niswander Eye Center, we serve patients from Erie and Niagara counties, and beyond. Since 1983 thousands of patients have trusted their eyes to us. We have built our solid reputation for skilled, safe surgery and exceptional care, one patient at a time.
We believe that it is vital to have personal care from your surgeon starting with the initial evaluation.
Dr. Niswander sees each patient for their initial evaluation and gives them all the information necessary to put them at ease about their surgery. Our eye care team members will be involved in your care as well, but there is no substitute for the in-depth knowledge and experience of the surgeon.
